Four points from thirteen games

Harry Redknapp: they don’t make them like that anymore

He’s back and – apart from his golf swing – he hasn’t changed a bit!

Harry’s still flirting with David Beckham and he still eschews talk of tactics, instead imploring his new QPR subordinates to “chase it” when they lose the ball. These are the methods which allowed Roman Pavlyuchenko to flourish at Tottenham.

It’s arm-around-the-shoulders-time in west London.

Expect ‘unsettling’ January raids for Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson, William Gallas, Tom Huddlestone and Brad Friedel.

  1. ‘Arry is just what QPR need to be honest. Managers like O’Neill and Redknapp are good motivators and can often bring the best out of underachieving talent. A slight on them is usually when they have got the talent and it is going up against more talent. Then this ‘playground football’ style seems to find its limitations.

I wish ‘Arry the best after what he did at Spurs, but even I was getting sick of the 2 points from 8 games and his insistence that he and Daniel had a relationship. Everyone knew that Levy couldn’t stand him and only met with him once a year at the Christmas / Hanukkah Party.

QPR has some decent players. Expect ‘Arry to try and ‘thicken’ them up over the coming weeks. Will he play a 4-4-2 or another formation? If I was an opposing manager, I know what I would be game-planning for….

    • Just the ticket for QPR as, like Spurs on 2 points after 8 games, they’re in a false position. Harry will get them to lower midtable where they belong the media will hail him for it. Then he’ll buy Peter Crouch and the fans will get restless…

Spurs will obviously lose at Loftus Rd later this season.

      • Harry has a lot of ‘powerful’ players already there. He will see the Muntari’s, Palacious’s and Zokora’s ‘thicken’ things up and will ask the Granero’s and Taarabt’s ‘to do their thing’.

There is always a team in a false position (think Wolves and Wigan over the past two seasons). Quality should drag them through.

They may want to give Darren Bent a call too
